Author's Notes: I blame the day I've had at work for this. (Either that, or I'm going slightly mad!)

Rolling over on her bed, Street gave a lazy stretch and did something that she had been taught to do as a child. She smiled. Her parents may have not known how to deal with her, and they may have turned their backs on her, but her father had given her one piece of advice that she would always keep in her heart. Wake up and greet the new day with a smile.

Scrambling off of the bed, she bounded into action. After freshening up came the first major hurdle of the day. Clothes. What should she wear? Street stood, assesing her 'wardrobe' hands on hips, one foot absently scratching a calf muscle currently ensnared in the pink bed socks that she wore in accompaniment to her multi-coloured nightshirt.

That was actually an advantage to her temporary residence in the sanctuary. More closet space. Her friends in the Fringes had cleared the stuff out of her trailer that she had really not wanted to lose, the rest... the rest she had left for whomever wanted it. Her belongings had gone through careful security sweeps before she'd let them in the lair. No nano-probes. No hidden tracers. No surprises.

Shaking her head to dispel unpleasant thoughts, Street selected a blue printed shirt and a pair of comfortable embroidered jeans. A purple cloth jacket and purple boots completed her ensemble. She needed to be comfy and practical today, she had people to see and things to do. After a brief breakfast of a protein algae shake - purple, in deference to her clothes - she snatched up her rucksack and global and headed out into the world.

By ten a.m., she'd met with Sarah, AJ & Lyre and they had caught her up on all the latest Fringe gossip. Next stop was Jared who, as always, had managed to get her the components she needed to keep her toys one step ahead of the rest of the world. It was, after all, better than being one step behind.

Lunch in the park was next. Mr. Josephson was at their usual table. Dropping a bag containing a bran muffin at his side and putting his coffee on its usual spot, Street flung her arms around the old man and gave him an exuberant hug that had him laughingly complaining that, "If she wasn't careful, he'd fall off his seat," the usual. Chess with Mr. Josephson was fun. He didn't mind that he was going to lose to a 'young strip of a girl'. He liked to make her work for her victories and her IQ didn't put him off spending time with her.

Her global signalled a message just as he gently nudged his king over, admitting defeat; the proud smile on his face sending a glow of pleasure through her. The message was from Liam. He and Renee needed some quick help. Grabbing her bag, she placed a quick kiss on her friend's cheek and ran off after promising to see him on Friday as usual.

Three hours later - Resistance duties accomplished - she headed off to her next scheduled appointment of the day. Dr. Park. She hadn't wanted to go, it was nothing against Melissa, she just didn't really like doctors but Liam had turned all big-brothery on her, much to Renee's amusement. The nano-probe incident had got him all concerned for her, he wanted his friend to check her out and make sure that she was okay... that Sandoval hadn't done anything else to her. In the face of his concern, she'd crumbled. If he could bottle that puppy dog expression they'd make a fortune.

Seven p.m., with a clean bill of health, Street wandered in to the Flat Planet Café. Liam and Renee were waiting on her. Dinner was on them - their thanks for her help that afternoon. Afterwards, they went for a walk in the city, just meandering around in companionable silence.

About ten they went their separate ways. Liam was on duty at the Embassy and Renee had a breakfast meeting to prepare for, the next day.

Street returned to the sanctuary and spent a couple of hours messing around with the new components that Jared had given her earlier that day. Around one a.m., she decided that she'd done all that she could do that day and she went to bed. Sleep came soon and so would a new day.
