He's annoying.
He's irritating.
He's brash.
He's too chivalrous for his own good.
He's annoying... Oh wait, I've covered that already.
Where was I? Let's see. Annoying... Irritating... Brash...
Oh yeah, he's cocky too.
He's sanctimonious about his views on things - OK, usually he's right. It's still damn annoying.
I'm beginning to repeat myself.
Sometimes I'd dearly love to smack that grin off his face.
He's made no secret of the fact that he disapproves of me and what I do.
He goes out of his way to be difficult at times and he does it to annoy me.
Yes, I'm definitely repeating myself. Damn.
Does he stop there? No.
He's courageous, intelligent and has thrown himself into hostile fire to save my life.
Even though he hates me.
He does it just to be awkward; I know he does.
The man doesn't approve of me, he doesn't like me, and I trust him to watch my back in a fight.
See what I mean? He's annoying.
Agent Ronald Sandoval sighed and brought his attention back to the work he was doing on the bridge of the mothership. A familiar voice caught his attention and his head swiveled round to see the source of his irritation enter the bridge. Major Liam Kincaid; noble Companion Protector and all around pain in the butt. He ignored the friendly smile the man gave him and glared.
The major's eyes - for just a second - betrayed a wounded look of disappointment that was quickly masked. Kincaid then adopted a blank expression that he would have been proud of and ignored his presence entirely.
Sandoval swore silently. He was annoyed that he had allowed his emotions to get the better of him. He was annoyed at Kincaid for unwittingly provoking that loss of control. More to the point, he was annoyed at himself for feeling guilty about upsetting Kincaid. Basically, he was annoyed and somehow, it was all Kincaid's fault. One day he would figure out why.
